why is it that all the photos from 90s furcons have like really bad flash/tone/color balance
its like all of a sudden in the year 2000 furries learned how to use cameras
It’s because back 90s everyone and their dog Flippy had cameras that used film. You’d take a picture, and after the weekend send it off to be developed. Sometimes 1-hour photo if you were lucky! Then you’d get your pictures back some time later and get all sad because your awesome fursuit photos were either washed out from the flash or too dark from not enough lighting, because the only person in the fandom who had a camera that wasn’t point-and-shoot was Protius.
Also we only had like a dozen fursuiters back then, and we were proud to have them, because we had to walk to Furry cons uphill both ways in the snow.
Then around 2000—once the panic about Y2K had died down—furries started getting digital cameras and people could see instantly whether their pictures actually looked good or not.
