Chapter 3

Alanna

“Do you mind giving me a minute with my little cousin?” Alanna asked him politely. He looked at her and smiled. “Of course.” He kissed her on the cheek and looked over at me. “Nice meeting you sweetie.” I gave him a polite wave and trained my eyes on Alanna. “Who was that guy in that Mercedes?” Oh this is the game she wants to play. I crooked my neck to the side and smacked my lips.

“The question is who is that? Are you cheating on my cousin?” She looked like she was offended. “I think you need to know your place little girl.” I know her and my ma are friends and everything but my mother would beat her blue if she knew she was talking to me like this. “I do know my place. I saw my cousin’s wife and my moms friend over here so I decided to come over and say hey, only to see what I saw, which looked like disrespect.” She put her hands on her hip. “Look if you want me to be quiet about you being off with that little boy you might want to keep your lips shut.” Ooh and she gone try to blackmail me. I guess I can play.

“What are you talking about Alanna?” I pretended like I was interested. She smiled sinfully and pulled me close. “This is going to be our little secret. I wont tell if you wont.” I smiled wide knowing my loyalty lies with my mom. “I don’t know Alanna, lying to my family.” I dropped my head playing the part. She lifted it with her manicured finger. “You aren’t lying. You are just withholding the truth.” She must think I’m dumb. All cute girls aren’t stupid. I shook my head like I still wasn’t sure. “How about this?” She pulled off her diamond tennis bracelet and handed it to me. She must have forgot my parents are rich. I have a bracelet just like this only pink. “Okay.” I looked up and smiled hesitantly. I would use it as leverage. “That’s my girl.” She kissed my cheek, and wiped her lipstick off of my face. Her smile was tight as she turned and walked away. I just shook my head as I headed back across the street. This is going to be fun. I smiled as I walked inside the studio.

Melissa

“Thanks Robs for everything. You are the best.” She rolled her eyes. “Yeah I know.” We both burst out into a fit of giggles. We had eaten lunch and chilled on the terrace discussing this thing with Keeis. I had to be honest I really liked Marquis but I didn’t want to hurt my best friend by continuing the affair. I guess I can cut my losses and move on. It pained my heart a little just thinking about it though. “Let’s go to the spa, I can use a mani and a massage.” Robyn blurted. She must have been reading my mind. Well you know my back thoughts. “Yes, let’s go.”

My feet has been scrubbed and my body waxed. Now I’m going to get a massage to calm my body down. I have to admit this took my mind off of everything. Robyn grabbed my arm and led me to the tables set up for us. We looked at each other and smiled. 

We arrived at Robyn’s house and my heart began to beat rapidly when I saw Marquis car. Robyn looked over at me. “What, what’s the problem?” I blushed. “Nothing, come on." 

Walking into the house I heard his voice and my palms began to sweat. Robyn and I walked into the living room and plopped down on the couch. "Baby I’m home.” She yelled. “That’s how you gone greet your husband after being gone all day.” She laughed. “Hey baby how was your day? Hey Mel.” Keeis must have told him because he couldn’t even look me in the eye. “Hey.” I whispered back and as I looked up our eyes connected and I felt that tingly feeling all over my body. “What’s up Mel?” He licked his succulent lips. I gave him a smile. “Can I holla at you for a minute?” My heart began to beat rapidly once more and if i wasn’t careful I would swoon right at his feet. “No problem.” When I looked over at Chris and Robyn they where both staring. What?“ I yelled. "Nothing, nothing go ahead.” Robyn looked sincere.

He pulled me outside and looked me in the eye. “I’m sorry for everything Mel I shouldn’t have.” I cut him off. “We are both adults I apologize for my part in everything.” I lifted my head and looked into his eyes. They were sparkling and he had a ghost of a smile on his face. I smiled too and before I knew it his lips where crushing mine. We were pulling at each other and moaning. “I will never have enough of you” He whispered in my ear. His hands found my ass and squeezed so delicately. His touch was everything right now and I was in heaven. “I guess y'all haven’t had enough.” We both jumped caught right in the middle. He backed up and I dropped my head. “Don’t worry your secret is safe with me but you know my wife will have a fit.” I laughed as I prepared to go back in the house with my best friend. “You going with me to get my baby girl?” I heard him ask Keeis behind me. The butterflies were tearing my stomach to shreds.

Robyn

“So what did he want to talk to you about?” I asked Mel as soon as she stepped back inside. “I knew you were going to interrogate me.” She replied. “Yeah, yeah, yeah now give me the goods.” She laughed. “He just wanted to apologize for last night and let me know that it wont happen again.” I felt happy from the inside out and I guess my huge grin showed her that. “I guess you are happy to hear that?” She asked me. “I am  so glad that you both feel guilty for your actions and want to do better. Alanna is my friend.” I could see her saying blah blah blah in her head but I didn’t say anything because I knew she never really liked her.  We sat in idle chat for a while and then my girl walked through the door. “Hey baby.” I jumped up caressed her cheek. “How was your day so far?” She dropped her shoulders. “It was good ma but we have to talk.” My instincts immediately perked. “What’s wrong baby?” She looked around. “Maybe we should go upstairs and talk.” I looked back at Mel skeptical. “Do you mind if Auntie M join us?” She shook her head no and led the way.

I sat on the bed While Mel sat on the chaise and Tina stood. Ma first let me tell you I didn’t go to dance practice today.“ I jumped up. "YOU WHAT?! She looked down. "I’m sorry I went to chill with Miguel. We didn’t do anything we just hung out for a little while and that was it.” I nodded. “Okay what else. She shrugged "I saw Alanna.” My eyes bulged and so did Mel’s. “Okay.” “Well I saw her with a guy and she’s trying to blackmail me.” She said in a rush. “I know that wench is not.” I jumped up again. “The guy was calling her baby so I assumed that’s her boyfriend. She told me if I tell she’s going to tell on me and she even gave me this.” She pulled a bracelet out of her purse and I knew for a fact its Alanna. “ I listened to my baby girl as she gave me every detail. Here I am judging Keeis and she cheating too and have the nerve to blackmail my baby. I had a plan brewing already. "Keep the bracelet baby and pretend like you didn’t tell my anything I will handle this okay.” She let out a deep breath. I looked over at Mel and her eyes told me she was pissed. Thelma and Louise is here to handle some shit.
