Kellan Lutz guests on today’s episode of Sesame Street, dropping by to introduce Cookie Monster to a new and exciting word: “vibrate.” Presumably, Sesame‘s writers picked that one because “beefcake” seemed inappropriate for preschoolers.

Elmo and Cookie Monster made the trip from Sesame Street to the EW offices to tell us about their new season (which starts next Monday), and we couldn’t have been more excited had it been Johnny Depp sword-fighting with a time-traveling Theodore Roosevelt. In honor of their upcoming slate of guest stars, the two of them took us through their interpretations of some of TV’s biggest shows — including The Big Bang Theory, CSI: Miami, and The Office (which, coincidentally, name-checked Sesame Street in its premiere last night) – and we have to say, Cookie Monster would actually make a pretty good replacement for Michael Scott.

Last year, Elmo and Cookie Monster stopped by EW’s offices to perform their versions of some popular TV shows. This year, Elmo was too busy working on Elmo: The Musical – but Grover and Cookie Monster (a.k.a. the Blue Brothers) had enough wiggle room in their schedules to come around and sing a few musical numbers of their own, parodying the likes of The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Doctor Who, and even The Newsroom. Elmo and Cookie Monster helped Orlando-bound passengers board their Delta flight today at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport at an event for the new Elmo’s Travel Songs and Games DVD available tomorrow from Sesame Workshop and Warner Home Video!
Seeing these guys at the airport would be the only thing that could make flying a non-horrible experience.
As part of a new campaign called Sesame Street and Autism: See Amazing in All Children, the long-running children’s show introduced a Julia, a girl living with autism, in an online storybook. In the book, Elmo teaches Abby about Julia and autism. This story is just one part of the Sesame Street initiative to fight autism stigma.
A bummer of an ending to a real bummer of a story.
Oh no – Big Bird’s nest has been destroyed by a hurricane! Luckily, the rest of Sesame Street will band together to help out their friend – and give some much-needed comfort to real-life humans suffering from similar afflictions.
