“Sleep Waking” is a collaboration between artist Fernando Orellana and computer scientist Brendan Burns that uses recorded brainwave activity and eye movements during REM sleep to determine robot behaviors and head positions. The Sleep Waking robot ‘plays back’ human dreams: relaxing when the sleeper is relaxed, active when the sleeper is dreaming.
