Nerds rule! Geek culture is chic culture in 2013, in Denver and beyond

Denver Comic Con co-founder Charlie La Greca got picked on in high school and college for being a self-described nerd with a deep love of comic books.

He doesn’t anymore. Being a nerd is a badge of honor in 2013. The kids who grew up reading comic books and playing video games are now the driving force behind broad and valuable swaths of popular culture and technology.
