Last weekend on Columbus Day, I had such a great week spending time with my beloved sister who came to providence for visiting from Boston. It was also my birthday so we just went to check out the Columbus day festival on Federal Hill and stopped by to the Pastiche Fine Desserts my favorite dessert cafe at Spruce Street in Providence.

We had their most famous ‘Fruit Tart’, I think it is the best fruit tart I have ever had so far. Well, It tastes as great as its look.

At the end of the day me, my sister and Jane planned to visit Roger Williams Park Zoo for ‘Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular’ in Providence. The show has been running from October 2nd to November 2nd. We all reached there around 7 p.m. and there were packed by people mostly they came together with family and children.

On weekend, price will cost $16 for adult and $13 for children. As I searched for the show, many people have suggested visitors to visit earlier before closer to Halloween because there will be double number of visitors.

The 2014 presentation of Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, they display scenes filled with intricate pumpkin art that was arrayed in alphabetical order with highlights from history and popular culture. They also provide fast food and hot drinks along the way to the show. It was fun to check out though! I would recommend this to anyone especially people who like to do activities with family members.

By the way, this is the first year that I celebrated my birthday abroad. Living far away from family is hard sometimes but I was lucky enough to meet very nice friends at JWU. I just would like to thank all my friends (especially Jane, Celia, Natalia and Brian) for the gifts and warm birthday celebration at the town of Providence.
