I see pattern…
…at Printsource Part 3.
Last post on Printsource :( *tear. But this is a good one. There’s a lot of MAGENTA and I loooooove MAGENTA! hehe
First up is Carly Lawrence from Atlanta, GA. She likes pANK! How cute is this booth?!?! Swans, Feathers, Roses, and Fun Geos OH MY!
I really enjoyed meeting Carly and seeing her work. This was her first time showing at Printsource. She walked Printsource in April to get a feel of it all and then signed up to exhibit in July. You can read all about her first Printsource experience on her blog www.carlylawrence.com. I totally could relate to her and her work. I just love graphic and bold prints like these. And in my opinion, you just cant go wrong with fucsia! A girl who sees pink the same way I do is a friend of mine! Carly’s prints are super cute and funky and I think she may just have a nice little career ahead of her! :)
I think the rose pattern entitled “Priscilla” looks like a pattern for Betsey Johnson! What do you think? I told Carly that and she said she was partly channeling Betsey when designing this one! Betsey, if you are reading this… haha
I collected a ton of business cards, but I have to say Carly’s was one of my favorites. Can you tell her background is in Graphic Design like me? I can spot them a mile away! haha
You can find Carly on Twitter and at her blog. Thanks Carly!
Lastly, I met the guys behind Consortium, a Surface Design Studio in Laguna Beach started by two Brits. Already I’m intrigued! I absolutely loved their booth presentation. Pattern covering every inch of the wall space? Best idea ever! You really couldn’t miss Consortium’s booth! And the work was bright, vibrant and just plain fun to top that off! Being that the studio is based out of Laguna Beach, they get tons of business from surf, skate, ski and swimwear companies. As I looked thru their prints, I invisioned some of them on board shorts or ski gear! They had a ton of prints to look thru and all of them were eye catching. These guys were super cool and extremely down to earth. Read their Mission Statement on their website here and you will see just how cool and down to earth they are! And funny! :)
I went straight to this print to see it up close. I usually like more vector based iconic prints the most, but for some reason I had to see this one upclose first. The colors are gorge.
The shark print on the left was another fave! My shark loving hip 11 yr old cousin would love some swim trunks with this pattern on them. And his 13 yr old sister would love a booksack or notebook with the peace sign pattern on it! SOLD! Maybe I should be a buyer. haha
More sharks! They had a whole collection of shark inspired patterns that were amazing! I wish I could have shared them all. :)
Thanks, Consortium for letting me share your booth and work!
I hope yall enjoyed all the posts I did on Printsource. It was quite a learning experience for me and extremely inspiring! I hope I was able to inspire you, as well!
XOXO,
