Ah, nostalgia for things you never had. Its cute in how naive it is.

IDK I mean the generation after us grew up with Bush as president, two major wars, a rise in cyberbullying, and a rise in school shootings, among other things, and a collapsing job market.  

It’s totally naive to think it’s perfect tho, but I can see having a little “wish I’d lived in that time” nostalgia because I feel like I’m way better off than my sister, especially in getting my foot in the door at a good job before the economy downturn.  

But man I feel old.

P.S. The “punks” were never the ‘cool kids’, they were always the rejects, along with the goth kids; know how I know? I was one of them.
Plus, if you tried to pass off Green Day or Blink 182 as punk, they would have laughed while kicking your ass with their steel toed Doc Martin boots.
