i cant see any of the main characters in the hp books as decent people because they exist in a universe where there are ways to heal broken bones in 30 seconds or less and depression is cured by shooting silver fursonas out of a stick and they never make any attempt to get any of it to the nonmagical world
It makes sense if they wanted to keep it secret because they feared they’ll be prosecuted again. And a Patronus is quite a personal thing from what I’ve gathered. But it always bugged me that if you look closely at wizarding world, it is kind of silly. It bugged me that it was immediately deemed better than Muggle world and even kids who grew up in Muggle families just went with it and never tried to introduce Muggle things into magical world, never brought with them any kind of technology, not even a simple pen, it’s like their upbringing just disappeared the moment they entered Hogwarts. And this feeling of superiority was kind of silly, it made me think that at some point Muggles are going to colonize other planets and wizarding world would still think they’re better because they’ve got flying broomsticks.
