RELEASE: POC Zine Project’s 2012 PayPal ‘DONATE BUTTON’ Totals 

We received $207 in donations from 9 people via PayPal in 2012.

Almost all donors were women. The $207 helped pay for food for touring members during our first Race Riot! tour.

This year’s tour is NATIONAL - we’re going to 20 cities (final lineup and more details coming in August!!). We need to raise $14,000 to cover the cost of the vehicle rental, gas, food, materials, rotating tour member travel expenses and more.

Every dollar donated to POCZP this year goes to our tour fund, the legacy series and the poverty zine series. Thanks to all who donated in the past and we appreciate what you can give now through end of this year. We do this for y'all: 100% volunteer.

What also helps us offset the cost of touring is paid speaking engagements at participating universities. We were able to go on tour last year because we were paid to speak at 6 universities on the tour route. This was NOT profit - it went directly back to the tour fund to reimburse folks, pay for gas, etc. See our prezi with financial disclosure for specifics:

We work outside the nonprofit industrial complex for a reason: to be able to move as quickly as possible and to be free to do what we want without government oversight.
