Seven Sentence Sunday

Miami, Florida

He pulled up in the licorice black 1970 Dodge Charger R/T–a wedding present from Haymitch–their communicator, and took his sunglasses off as he waited.

Peeta was aware of the looks that he got when he pulled up in this car and his wife always snarkily brought up how much he enjoyed the attention while she shied away from it.

Spotting her across the street, he walked slowly to the window as he watched her lithe figure cross the bedroom she was in–Katniss looked great in leather–and then rested his chin on the window sill.

“You ready?” he asked and she turned quickly with a smile, her long dark hair swinging around with her, “We have a meeting with Haymitch in an hour and need some money for gas.”

Walking towards him and giving him a quick kiss, Katniss held out her wrists which were clad in two thick gold bands and grinned, “Pure gold and should give us enough money to get to his place, you like?”

Peeta nodded as he helped her out the window and placed her firmly on the ground; the couple who lived in this house would be home from church in a few minutes, “I like the dress better.”

They walked hand in hand towards the car passing another couple and Katniss winked devilishly at them before turning back to her husband; the young girl turned to look at Katniss again wondering why that leather dress looked so familiar…
