New York City autumn - Central Park

Under elm trees

laden with gold

you said

you

would wait for

me.

Under the branches

clinging to the last

of summer’s wishes

you sat.

And in the distance

I saw winter

waiting,

whispering

on the barest

of breezes

until all I

could hear

were promises

of snow.
