Hello, just to start off I am a huge fan of your blog! I'm currently a law student who is about to graduate. Im looking for some reasonably affordable suits (preferable that they don't exceed £400) that fit well and are of good quality. I was curious as to which brands and styles you would most recommend to someone about to start in the corporate world. Thanks so much for any info!

Hey,

Cheers mate and gongrats for your upcoming graduation!

First of all, the fit of a suit is always subjective and what fits one may not fit another. However, at the moment I think the best place to start looking for a suit with budget you mentioned is SuitSupply. The quality is good, especially considering the price range and from different fits you are probably able to find the one that suits you. Depending on your body build, for the use you mentioned (corporate work, office) I would probably check out their Lazio, Napoli and Sienna fits. Start with either classic (navy) blue or subtle dark grey and for the second suit pick the other one you didn’t go when choosing the first one. With those two you are definitely good to go.

Other options to check out:

J.Crew, Brooks Brothers, OgerBoggiT.M LewinCharles Tyrwhitt, Brothers (tailoring club),

If I were you I would also check out the series of “Where to look first for a suit” written by Derek @Put This On which pretty much covers the options worth to take a look at.

Best,
