Refn’s latest is a glossy horror fantasy set in the twisted world of fashion modelling in Los Angeles. It’s a hauntingly gorgeous yet emotionally hollow film full of arresting and captivatingly meticulous female imagery. Elle Fanning feels like the perfect vessel for this particular brand of darkly disturbing narcissism and beauty.
