The Killing of a Sacred Deer (dir. Yorgos Lanthimos) x VIFF 2017.
Lanthimos has delivered another coldly divisive film of many haunting themes including sacrifice and vengeance. Structured like a game or nightmare, it’s easy to marvel and be turned off by then machinations of the destruction of [Colin Farrell]’s idyllic family as a result of one mistake. It’s a real piece of work.
