I worked with the lovely Gavin Lucas to curate seven hours (yes, seven hours!) of radio for Comms Bureau, the daily radio station at illustration festival Pick Me Up. Our topic was magazines and we got some incredible editors and art directors to come and talk to us, as well as playing some of their favourite records.

MagCulture’s Jeremy Leslie and Stack’s Steven Wilson kicked off proceedings with an alphabet of the hottest independent magazines. Chris Harrison and Polly Glass from Wrap chatted to us about how the title has evolved through ten issues (and Gavin played some excellent rap tunes, geddit?). Erin Spens from Boat Magazine couldn’t come into the studio as she and the team were mid-move to LA, but she gave us the low-down on their latest Peru issue and compiled an incredible mix of Afro-Peruvian tracks. Design Week's Emily Gosling and Tom Banks provided us with our Lunch Time Music Hour and Patrick Burgoyne from Creative Review came in to talk about innovating across platforms. Sam Walton, founder and editorial and creative director of craft-focused Hole & Corner magazine, enthused about the amazing people featured in H&C’s first two issues. Finally Printed Pages’ Liv Siddall and illustrator Ed Carvalho-Monaghan came in to talk about their music-led collaboration and how the magazine works. Click on the names to listen to the podcasts.
