RIP Invisible Ink
It deeply touches me when I hear something about a horse racing industry professional grieving over a racehorse that has been injured, become ill, or has passed away. Ironically, I found myself randomly thinking of 2001 Kentucky Derby runner-up Invisible Ink a few days ago out of nowhere, so I was saddened to read the news he had just passed away.
If you have time, read Steve Haskin’s short memoir of “Inky,” including details of the horse’s impossible recovery as a juvenile and why his halter plate was left blank.
