I hunger for quality news. I’m tired of the right and the left. There’s a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and to MSNBC, ‘Out! Off! End! Goodbye!’

Senator Jay Rockefeller, D-WV (via mediaite)

You’d think a smart guy like that would know that cable channels are not under FCC jurisdiction, and that the First Amendment protects the press, and that without a right and a left we’d have one-party rule, or that watching cable news is not mandatory, and that TVs have OFF buttons. Senator, have you tried NPR and this new thing called the Internet?

(via inadvisable)

To add to this noise, there is this characterization of Rockefeller by Ed Schultz yesterday:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I hate, hate, hate the way Ed Schultz uses the invented term leftie, as if he were one himself. Schultz is a centrist as is Rockefeller. Schultz might be as “left-wing” as most people get in Fargo, ND but who is to say that Fargo should bend the curve of the political continuum?

Ed really needs to get out, he doesn’t have to go far from his TV job to find out what a real leftist is.
