Kevin Smith has totally spoiled us by being his ridiculously funny and affable self the few times we’ve been lucky enough to hang out with him on the set of his Hulu show Spoilers, so when he invited us to check out his annual Q&A at Comic Con, we knew we had to be there. 

Lucky for you guys, we were also packing a Flip cam to capture Kevin candidly not talking about his experience working on the set of Cop Out with an actor who is definitely not Bruce Willis.  BUT, if you’re ever strolling down the street in Brooklyn and you happen to see a person who is definitely not Bruce Willis, whatever you do, don’t call this person “Die Hard” and tell him how much you love his movies because he will hate you more than anything in the world.  And you wouldn’t want that now, would you?

Ask any Comic-Con survivor, and they’ll tell you that the worst things about the week are all of the people and all of those peoples’ smells. Yes, the Convention Center contains a veritable wonderland of fragrances. But there are ways to endure these minor setbacks - no gas mask required.

 Then there’s the wardrobe malfunctions. If this is your first time at Comic-Con, brace yourself to see lots of butt crack. Sometimes, this show of skin is intentional (hey there, Aeon Flux). Other times, the exposure is less-than-planned (hello, 400 pound man dressed as Poison Ivy).

Some of the cosplayers are objects of beauty who could even make Hell Boy blush. But underneath all those prosthesis, makeup, and elaborate costuming, they’re human. Don’t be afraid to say “hello,” or “want to grab a hotdog?” or “mataHmeH maSachnIS” (which is Klingon for “to survive we must expand”).

Comic-Con can be a harrowing experience, but it can also be a life-affirming event where friends are made, romance abounds, and (with the right pair of binoculars) you can count each Teen Wolf’s breathtaking eyelashes. Grimm, the only police procedural on TV with an assortment of supernatural sidekicks, has seen its fan base gain momentum over the last two seasons. So what’s in store for Detective Nick and his gang of mystery-solving monsters and men? (SPOILERS FOLLOW) According to the cast at Comic-Con, tons more stunts, fighting, action and lots and lots of romance - including a wedding for Monroe and Rosalee, and intrigue for Russell Hornsby’s Hank. “We’re going to incorporate my real-life injury into the show,” says Hornsby, who injured his Achilles tendon near the end of last season. “So I’m going to be going through physical therapy, and that’s going to be an opportunity for Hank to find another love interest." 

Claire Coffee, who reveals she’s afraid of the dark in real life, can’t wait to get back to playing power-hungry Hexenbiest Adalind. "If you get the chance, I highly recommend playing a villain. It’s so much fun." 

Reggie Lee (Sergeant Wu) says he’s already hurting from doing all his own stunts, one of which somehow resulted in rug burn of the mouth. "Now that they’ve gotten all the mythology down, I think they’re really focusing on the tangential stories for each of the characters. So you’ll definitely see more of me, absolutely." 

Hornsby warns us that the next season will debut "more drama, more intrigue, better story lines, and better creatures.” A newly zombified Detective Nick will surely be one of them.
