About this site

Eating for Idiots: So easy a caveman could do it. The need to eat is arguably the strongest human instinct we all share yet most of the industrialized civilization cannot distinguish between real food and fake or toxic food. While this page is based primarily on paleo, primal, and ancestral diets, it is not because I’m under any misconstrued notion that we are virtually cavemen living in a modern world but rather many foods we have introduced in recent centuries not only offer very little nutritional value, but have caused us to become sick. "Cavemen" as it were, or our "primitive ancestors", set a great baseline for how to eat and it only makes sense to me that we start from ground zero. Follow my quest as I re-learn to eat nutrient dense foods that promote health and well-being.

I love making meatballs because they make for a couple days worth of meals.  I’ve fallen in love with serving them with tomato sauce over mashed cauliflower but you can of course use veggies or julienned squash as well.

  1. 2 lb ground meat (beef, bison, pork, whatever)
  2. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  3. 1 sprig fresh rosemary, minced
  4. 3 sprigs fresh thyme, minced
  5. 1 long sprig fresh oregano, minced
  6. ¼ cup roughly chopped flat leaf parsley
  7. ½ small yellow onion, roughly chopped
  8. ½ cup almond meal
  9. 2 eggs, whisked
  10. 1 tsp salt
  11. 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  12. A few grinds black pepper

Mix into golf ball sized meatballs and fry in ghee, coconut oil, or bacon fat.
