Some absolutely stunning choices in this year’s shortlist for the 2014 Sony World Photography awards. I especially loved the drama and composition of the above entries – by Dan Kitwood, Wolfgang Weinhardt, and Boonie Cheung, respectively.

What happens when you let color dictate the music you want to hear? Predominant.ly answer that question, as a site that helps you explore and discover new music based simply on a color (pulled from the album covers). The results are fun and vibrant, and it’s really interesting to see different genres and acts lumped together based solely on a hue.

Google has launched the Music Timeline, an interactive timeline showing popular genres and releases since the dawn of “modern popular music” (around 1950’s), based on the libraries and activity of it’s Google Play members. Not exactly a perfect model, but it’s fun to play around in especially when you dig deeper into the decades and genres, and it’s just another fascinating visualization model based on the reams of data Google collects everyday.
Lykke Li’s music always puts me in a creative mood, looks like she’s got a new album, entitled I Never Learn, coming out May 5th. From the sound of the teaser music it should be just as dramatic as her previous works. Looking forward to it.
