Republican contender Nancy Dye has signed onto the anti-tax increase pledge created by Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform.
Dye is running in a three-way race against Democratic Sen. John Edwards and independent Donald Caldwell to represent the 21st Senate District.
She signed the pledge last Friday, according to her campaign.
“My pledge to the residents of the 21st district will always be to work for them in the State Senate,“ she said in a statement Wednesday.
"I believe that the General Assembly must be fiscally responsible with the taxpayer’s money and spend those dollars wisely.”
