magicmusic7-deactivated20151129 asked: Hey I just started following your blog--really cool idea! How do you find the clothes/costumes? What do you look/search for? Just out of interest. because it must be hard to find specific clothes for the characters like the German brothers' crosses. Thank you!

Hello there! I use a website called polyvore to make my sets, and for the basic clothes, I just go to the category I’m looking for (shirts, pants, dresses, etc.) and filter by the color and if I need a specific pattern like stripes, I search that too.

As for the more specialized pieces, sometimes people will have already imported them to polyvore, but it just takes a lot of searching and scrolling to find them. Sometimes more specific objects, like the German brothers’ crosses, I have to start looking elsewhere. It definitely helps to know exactly what the item you’re searching for is called, so if you don’t know exactly what it is, a little research is required, and a lot of the time you learn some pretty cool stuff along the way. For instance, the German brothers’ cross is technically called an iron cross, so if I wanted to find one, I would go to google or yahoo shopping and search for an iron cross ring, necklace, etc.

Also, since I search for a lot of clothes and accessories, I often get a lot of ads for various online stores. I rarely click on the ads themselves, but if it looks like a place I might get something out of, I do try to figure out what the website is and then just search it on my own.

If you go to the link that I put below my sets, it takes you right to it on the polyvore website and from there you can see where each individual item is from. I just started doing that recently, but I would be happy to add the link to any specific sets if people are curious.

Thanks for the question!
