The first thing is lift your foot up to the toes, then lift your leg up sideways, then when you get close to knee level then kick straight out with the hill of your foot. The leg that your standing on must have the foot facing away from the other when you lift your leg so that when you start to kick that leg will bend. The leg that your kicking with should still be bent before kicking.
