For the month of October, Diana has be kind enough to allow me to share one game a week, all of which I recommend for Halloween, tabletop fun!
You don’t have to drop big bucks to play a spooky game this Halloween. All you need are your friends, a plan and maybe a pound of dice.
If you are into RPG games like Dungeons and Dragons, then all you have to do is create a Halloween theme mini-campaign…

Top Ten Best Reads from 2015…so far
Each week, The Broke and the Bookish hosts this book meme, and this week’s prompt is “Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015.”
- Yes, Please by Amy Poehler – I got this book on Audible, and I really think that listening to Amy and her funny friends read this book aloud is the way to go. I loved every bit of this book and will treasure it always.
- The Girl With All The Gifts by M. R. Carey – This book was AMAZING. And I am grateful that it brought me back towards horror (though I wouldn’t really call this a horror book).
- Cress by Marissa Meyer – I literally just finished this book, and I am on the edge of my seat for more.
- Wicked As They Come by Delilah S. Dawson – This was a Vaginal Fantasy Book Club pick from 2014, but I haven’t been doing a lot of reading this year yet…Still, if you like steam-punk, circus romance, you’ll like this book.
- Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending To Be A Grown-Up by Grace Helbig – One of my all-time favorite YouTubers’ first book! It is more for fresh out of college aged people than someone who just turned 30, but I still found it to be a fun read.
- My Life As A White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland – One of my picks for the Books, Booze & Bajingos book club (you should join us!). I don’t really like zombie-things…in fact I hate them. But this was a clever reworking of the zombie monster. I need to get more from this series.
- The Bullet-Catcher’s Daughter by Rod Duncan – Another pick of mine for BB+B. Another steampunk fiction, as well…come to think of it…another traveling circus, too.
- Saga Volumn 4 by Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples – This came out in Dec. 2014, but I didn’t get it till after the holidays. I AM READY FOR THE NEXT TRADE ALREADY. Too bad I have to wait till September. Sigh.
- Life Among the Savages by Shirley Jackson – This book was so funny, and it also made me horrified to have children.
- Greywalker by Kat Richardson – Another Vaginal Fantasy book. It made me a Kat Richardson fan. I need to get more from this series, too.

(OAMG) D&D
(OAMG) Zombicide
For the month of October, Diana has be kind enough to allow me to share one game a week, all of which I recommend for Halloween, tabletop fun!
First up, what better board game to play in honor of Halloween than Zombicide? You practically get to live out a zombie movie through a board game. If that doesn’t scream Halloween, then I don’t know what does.
THEME: Adventure, Exploration, Horror,…
Culture Creature - Stranger Things, Pumpkin Carving, A Pocketful of Crows, Pumpkin Brownies and Sweater Weather!

So, the title really says it all, but here a some things that I’m looking forward to experiencing as October comes to an end.
FIVE THINGS:
Stranger Things, Season 2. Did you see that there’s an actual countdown on Netflix? I love it! I cannot wait to put LB to bed and binge this with Mr. LL, a bowl of popcorn, Halloween candy and some mom juice (a.k.a. wine).
- Pumpkin Carving! Mr. LL and I have carved pumpkins together almost every year since our first date. We started dating in October and I still remember carving pumpkins with him in those early days listening to Prince’s “Purple Rain” and Lionel Richie’s “Hello” on repeat.
- A Pocketful of Crows by Joanne M. Harris; this book is on a lot of lists for anticipated and best books coming out this month. It came out last week and I’m going to be checking out as soon as I can get my hands on it.
- Sweater Weather. I live in New Orleans, so it never really gets that cold here, and thanks to global warming, it never will. However, we get chilly days now and again and I’ve been eyeing up this sweater to add to my sadly underused collection.
- Baking some pumpkin brownies! I’ll post the recipe review next week!
What are you looking forward to this Halloween season?
