November 16, 1960. JFK visits the LBJ Ranch in Stonewall, eight days after the 1960 election. Although Kennedy refuses to put on the Stetson hat given to him by the mayor, the crowd enthusiastically welcomes the president- and vice president-elect.

The next day, LBJ takes JFK deer hunting (like he took RFK last year) before Kennedy’s departure for Palm Beach.
