Welcome to Crane & Canopy.  We absolutely love reading your blog.  How did you start blogging?  Why the namesake, Cupcakes for Breakfast?

I went to school for journalism because I’ve always loved to write. As a senior in college, we had to create a website as a final project and I started posting my recipes. I love cooking at home for family and friends, so that’s where it really started. I used to bake in the mornings for my college roommates, especially Cupcakes for Breakfast.

What’s a fun fact about you that’s currently not on your “about” page?

I’m (still) a huge NSYNC fan and I actually just taped an episode of My Family Recipe Rocks with Joey Fatone!

Describe your personal home style in 3 adjectives.

Colorful, girly, modern

What is your favorite find/thing in your house that really makes it feel like your home?

Might be cliché but my bed is the coziest part of my apartment that makes it feel like home. Without a great bed, you might as well be sleeping at a stranger’s house.

What are your favorite trends and/or colors this season for the home?

I love bright colors – hot pinks, citrus oranges, deep plums – but this spring I’m definitely feeling the urge to go lighter. Lots of white, light pink, greys, and gold accents.

What are you most excited for this spring?

A reunion with all of best college girlfriends. I don’t think we’ve all been together since graduation day!

Of all the recipes you have posted on your blog, which has been your favorite?

It’s so hard to pick a favorite recipe, but I’m a huge fan of simple layered cakes. My favorite has to be this classic vanilla cake with whipped chocolate fudge frosting.

And of course, what’s your favorite Crane & Canopy bedding!

I love how beautiful and subtle the Octavia collection is. I’d pair it with the coral scalloped sheets and the yellow arrows throw for some pops of color.
