“Nightclubbing” comes from an era when David Bowie and Iggy Pop worked very closely together. Pop wrote the song about hanging out with Bowie. Bowie used a drum machine on the track while fiddling around in the studio and wanted to replace it with real drums. Pop loved the drum machine sound and insisted that it remain.
The kick drum from the track was later featured prominently in Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer”.

It’s a valiant attempt. She’s taking the right approach but doesn’t quite get there. It’s too bright. It’s too clean. Still, it’s worth a listen.
Pigface - Suck (Live) w/ NIN’s Trent Reznor & Skinny Puppy’s Nivek Ogre
The version performed here is more like the version found on NIN’s Broken and less like what you hear on Pigface’s Gub. It’s not clear to me who else is performing here aside from mastermind Martin Atkins.
Among those working with the band around this time were En Esch (KMFDM), Chris Connelly (Revco/Ministry), Andrew Weiss (Rollins Band/Ween), Danny Carey (Tool) and maybe Al Jorgensen.

Jane’s Addiction - Sex Is Violent

I love that Trent Reznor injected a hefty dose of Diamanda Galas right into the middle of this.
I bought this record the day it was released, which was about a month before the film hit theaters. Hearing all of this eclectic music, edited, remixed and twisted around some of the film’s most outlandish dialogue, was a bit of a revelation. It wasn’t a score, and it wasn’t quite a soundtrack, either. It wasn’t an accompaniment. It was the film, on a little plastic audio disc. I ultimately enjoyed the film, but the magic I saw onscreen never quite matched the madness I heard in my headphones.
They’re not amused with Kennedy at first, but she ultimately wins them over.
