Location Scouting.

At nine o'clock this morning, my significant other and I entered the cool silence of my car, separated from the busy morning traffic symphony outside. Armed with two bottles of water and a clipboard of scribbled notes, names, and numbers, we embarked on some location scouting for my third year clerkship.

I was in need of a place to stay, somewhere ideally affordable, well-stocked, and close to the hospital. The key word there is “ideally."

In all of the places we went to, there were trade-offs. One was better located; another was better priced. It was the perennial growing pains of moving. It had struck again. After a full day of visits, I would have to weigh my options. Of course, I must remember that I could still see more places, ones that could give me a better deal and better fit for my situation. However, after such an exhaustive day of searching, do I really want to go for round two?
