Fryars - On Your Own

Benjamin Garrett, alias Fryars, c’est un gamin de 22 ans, musicien de formation qui a déjà collaboré avec ses petits copains de classe Local Natives et The XX. Bref autant dire qu’il appartient, lui aussi, à la promo des surdoués. La copie est propre, soignée. Les arrangements musicaux sont beaux : guitare feutrée, piano élégant et batterie raffinée offrent un résultat des plus seyant à l’écoute. Quant à l’attitude ? irréprochable : “On your Own” est touchante, véritable extrait de sensibilité du gosse. Electro-pop chancelante, où la voix fragile et solide à la fois, joue les funambules et danse sur le fil des notes. Une bonne dose lacrymale à écouter égoïstement. Le clip larmoyant ne joue même pas dans le pathos, juste dans le vrai comme son morceau qui témoigne d’une grande maîtrise et maturité. A croire que Fryars pourrait sauter des classes

Musical arrangements are beautiful : hushed guitar, chic piano and refined drums, offer one of the most suiting results when you listen to it. What about the behaviour ? Well… Irreproachable. « On Your Own » is touching, a real extract of Fryars’s sensitivity. Delicate electropop, where the both delicate and strong voice, gambles the funambulist and dances on the notes string. A good lachrymal dose which you should enjoy selfishly. The weepy video does not look like the pathos just to the reality. As the track which shows mastery and maturity. You would think that Fryars will skip a year.
