Guns and Rosés

Longtime readers of this blog already know that I’m a big fan of the Pacific Rod & Gun Club. There’s nothing better than spending the day at this historic San Francisco skeet shooting range and enjoying the sights of Lake Merced, while getting a few rounds of skeet in. Unless, of course, there’s a wonderful meal that goes along with it.

My friend Matthew is one of the founders of Stag Dining, a clandestine dinner club in San Francisco that plans themed dinners around venues and events. And whenever Stag hosts a dinner at the Pacific Rod & Gun Club, I always try to make it out.

This Sunday, Stag Dining will be hosting a “Guns ’n Rosés“ dinner. The event will start off with a round of skeet shooting with a raw and charcuterie bar. In addition, there will be a champagne sabering instructional (don’t worry, champagne and other alcohol will only be served after everyone’s done shooting).

Afterwards, there will be an amazing dinner with pork head tacos, charred summer corn, vension tartar, peaches and burrata, and homemade soft serve. The dinner also holds a special occassion, as it will be the official release of the Stag’s rosé, Deerblood Rosé. There will also be other rosés availabe from Bodkin, Wilson & Wilson, and Kivelstadt.

I invite you all to attend this wonderful event with me this Sunday. Don’t worry, the event begins at 3:30pm so you’ll have plenty of time to watch the World Cup beforehand.

(Full Disclosure: The Stag’s have graciously invited me to attend this event for free, but I would have paid (and was planning on it) for this event in a heartbeat.)

If you can make it, then you should go! Stag Dining puts on amazing events and their skeet-shooting dinners are fun and tasty. And with the recent news about the city trying to close down the club, you might not get many more opportunities to do this again.
