I HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LAMBS WOOL SCARF BY GANT. UNFORTUNATELY IT'S TOO LONG BUT BY HALVING IT I COULD GET TWO. PROBLEM IS EVERYBODY SAYS IT CAN'T BE DONE 'COS IT WOULD FRAY WHERE CUT. IS THERE A SOLUTION.

First, please don’t use ALL CAPS, ever. It’s the equivalent of shouting at the reader and makes what you’re saying harder to read.
In regards to your question, I wouldn’t cut the scarf. Why not just wrap it around your neck a few times or wear it with a different knot? A Suitable Wardrobe has a great video about how to wear a scarf.
