I'm looking for a few jacket/coats for this upcoming winter. I'm a small guy so I'm not looking for long length coat. I'm a college student so I'm looking for something I can wear everyday. More on the casual side, although I do rock sportcoats I usually wear them dress down with jeans, chinos or cords, never trousers. I currently have a true navy Schott peacoat looking for 3 more outerwear. Gets pretty cold here in NYC. Looking to spend about $300-400 per outerwear, no black. Please help?

Maybe a duffle coat? There’s a ton of options out there on sale right now that you could go for. I’d hit up the usual suspects and you could probably either get something further up the pricescale for that budget, or halve your budgeted spend by looking around. L.L.Bean is having a huge outerwear sale right now, including this blackwatch duffle coat.

ehh if he’s a small guy, that duffle will not work without an extra $100-$150 of tailoring to go with it. I’m stocky and the small was still massive on me.

Hmm, well, in that case, check out the clearance pages for Park & Bond and Mr Porter. There’s bound to be something there that fits your bill.
