WIWT: 09-19-203 – It’s not always a jacket or suit for work at Khaki’s of Carmel. Sometimes it’s a sweater. In this case, an Italian wool-silk blended rugby in black layered over a white OCBD and black silk knit tie. I picked up the sweater from work not too long ago to try it out as an alternative to V-necks under a sport coat or blazer. Frankly, I just like wearing it over a button-down shirt on its own. With the right combinations, it looks really refined.
Down below, mocha brown slim moleskin trousers from Mason’s (which are absurdly comfortable) and chocolate brown suede tassel loafers. I’ve been really happy with the fit of Mason’s, which I hadn’t tried on before starting this job. The pants fit me incredibly well through my entire leg and this particular shade of brown pairs well with a wide range of hues for the autumn months. With Carmel’s moderate temperatures, however, I could probably wear them year-round.
Finally, I also couldn’t resist showing off my newly acquired vintage Longines on a special-order alligator watchband from W. Kleinberg. I found the watch at an antique mall in Aptos where a dealer restores vintage timepieces. I fell in love with the watch the moment I saw it, but knew its flimsy lizard leather band had to go. A co-worker had a great navy alligator watchband, so I felt pretty confident ordering from W. Kleinberg in their black version. It gives the watch a much more formal look – almost too formal for some outfits.
