I-CON 31 Roundup Part 1: Friday Night Panels
For those who don’t know, I-CON is a convention which takes place in Long Island’s Stony Brook University. Thousands of sci-fi, anime, comics, gaming, and other media fans gathered last weekend. My coverage of the con focuses largely on the guests, panels, and meetups related to Doctor Who.
Friday evening’s wide variety of panels set the tone for the rest of the con. Nana Visitor reminiced about her roles on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Dark Angel, Torchwood: Miracle Day, and more.
Frazer Hines and Colin Spaull discussed what it was like to be on the set of Doctor Who at various points in the show’s history. Hines remembers the black and white days of the show. He played Jamie McCrimmon, companion to the Second Doctor. Spaull shared his experiences as a star on the classic serial “Revelation of the Daleks” as well as newer episodes"Cybermen" and “Age of Steel”.
