Micro Broadcasting - Personal Outreach for the Gospel!

As Christian we are all called to reach out with the message of the Gospel. Mark 16 v.15

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

In our modern day and age there are more and more opportunities materialising to reach out with the message of the Gospel.

We have now the beginning of the Smartphone revolution which is changing people's media habits and obviously we are in the middle of the Network revolution where everything is getting networked.

Suddenly media outlets have become dirt cheap and can no longer be controlled by big corporations who keep a lid on what can be broadcast and what not.

So what can you do?

1. Blog your experiences with Christ for other people to see that our relationship with God is real.  There are dozens of blogging sites which you can access for free.

2. Youtube is a marvellous resource where you can gather information and publicise it for free. So why not have some interviews with people you know on how they became a Christian and what it means to them to follow Christ. Get a free account and start uploading your messages.

3.The Newsletter or Tract

In the days of Gutenberg 500 years ago, the message of the Gospel was spread using the printing press and a better design to print fast. Now every computer has a the facility to print 1000 times faster than Gutenberg. Why not create leaflets and tracts which appeal to your particular community and just leave them around where people can find them? Phone boxes, park benches, the bar?

4. FM Micro Transmitters

There are a lot of ways to broadcast to the close proximity. There are car transmitters for your iphone or smartphone to make it possible to hear it on your car radio. In Europe the range is supposed to be about 5 meters and in America it is permissible up to 100 meters. Still most 5m transmitters can be heard 50m away and more. It is often due to a combination of very sensitive car radios and slightly higher power in the transmitting devices. Just imagine you go to a shopping mall and you keep your MP3 player running. You could relay some interesting talks, a gospel message or a testimony.

5. Airtime

There are other ways to broadcast legally. You can buy airtime on a lot of radio station for less than 100 dollars per 15 or 30 minutes. Imagine the amount of information you could squeeze into that amount of time. For more detailed information you could link a broadcast to your webpage or blog. There are a lot of organisations who would link you to radio stations worldwide who are willing to sell some airtime for Christian programmes.

Just something to think about. In our generation there are more people than in all generations added together before us. At the same time there are more opportunities for Joe Bloggs i.e. the average person without special skills or huge amounts of money to reach out.

Don't leave the territory of preaching the Gospel to mega ministries who are sometimes headed by corrupt people who are more interested in donations than in people finding the truth but instead engage in it yourself and start reaching out to a lost world!

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
