While I very much appreciate the finer things in life, that doesn’t mean everything I purchase is top of the line. Point? Sometimes it’s worth investing in a beauty product you know will get the job done. And yet just because it’s the most expensive thing on the market doesn’t automatically deem it the best. Case in point with this post- one very high end product and one that will run you less than $10.
[It feels like] I have tried nearly every eye cream on the planet. As of late that has included products from Kiehl’s, Boscia, Clarins, and Lush. I don’t suffer from puffiness under my eyes- but the more tired I am, the more my dark circles start to show. To date, nothing has been able to minimalize the fine lines and the circles. Until I tried La Mer. Now, shake your head at me all you want for spending that much on eye cream. But let me defend myself and say that adding together the cost of all the products currently in my medicine cabinet (which haven’t done their job) – I have FAR surpassed the price that one little La Mer jar.
That being said, when so much money is being invested in a product, I really suggest getting a week-long sample and trying it first to be sure it’s worth it’s weight in gold. Or a month of Starbuck’s lattes– it’s up to you how you choose to rationalize your purchases. And for me, the eye concentrate REALLY, really works. Otherwise I would have kept my miserly dollars in my wallet. Just for transparency’s sake, it’s worth noting that I do get a discount on this product (consider it a little perk of my job).
Editor’s Note: I am fully aware that it’s not really reasonable to walk out and spend that kind of money on eye cream. What you don’t see is me bringing my lunch to work everyday and saving pennies so I can treat myself to things like this. While I have the ability to be frivolous with my earnings (that I work hard for FYI) before children and added responsibility come along, I intend to be. You do you & what you want with your dollars.
Remember when I said just because something is more expensive doesn’t mean it’s more effective? I’ve tried several dry shampoos only to look like I had a pulled my best George Washington. You know- powdered wig and all. Until finding Batiste Dry Shampoo. If I’m recalling correctly, I heard about this product from Grace. It’s not gritty, not floral scented, & does it’s job making you look like you had a fresh head of hair. Even gives a little volume- enough that I can pull off a day-3 ponytail without looking like an oil slick.
