Q:I just sent in money through the mail to deposit into my Bear Bucks account so I can buy textbooks when I need to. I am thoroughly regretting that now because I realized I can buy textbooks for a much lower price using slugbooks. Is there anyway I can get the money back before the semester starts?

Well first of all, your Bear Bucks account is actually good for a lot of things: laundry, printing, vending machines, the bookstore (where you CAN get a lot of non-textbook books for cheap and you can rent textbooks easily) and on-campus eateries all take Bear Bucks. I don’t know how much money you put in that account, but over 4 years, you might very well use all of it.
If you need the money back ASAP, I think you might be out of luck. You get refunded when you graduate, but getting the money out of your account before that is tricky. Try going to the card office and asking for an exception, but the norm is to not grant cash refunds of your card balance.
