Cute. The Pioneer Press says I was given “advanced warning” about helicopters training in Minneapolis so I should have known what was going on when I Instagram’d a photo of 4 black-hawk helicopters flying over my house.

A “WARNING”? Really? If you click that link, it’s a 6 paragraph (8 sentence) story about the upcoming training. No, “I didn’t call the police, but that doesn’t mean I knew what was going on, despite being a complete idiot!” Oh, hell.

Are they trying to guilt me into reading their news? I’m not really sure why they would write it like that? Was it just a poor choice of words?

This helicopter training story does not warrant “Were you born under a rock?” ridicule, and I get it that it WAS reported by major news entities in the Twin Cities Metro. I missed the memo, obviously. No big deal. I actually learned about the event on Instagram and Twitter, and I was just fine with that. Welcome to 2012.

Kudos to the Pioneer Press for using Storify to collect and present reactions from social media about the helicopters. But the commentary brings up their impending irrelevancy if shaming people for not reading their news article is their editorial stance.

I’m overreacting, of course – thanks for reading. Oh, hell.
