Samsung first to debut Windows 8 phone, unveils ATIV S at IFA

At IFA today, Samsung unveiled its first Windows 8 device, the ATIV S. Samsung is the first manufacturer to officially announce a Windows 8 phone. The device will be very thin with a 8.7mm brushed aluminum chassis and 4.8 inc Super Amoled display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The device also sports impressive specs: a 1.5 GHZ dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 8 MP autofocus camera and 1.9 MP front facing camera. The Samsung ATIV S will come in 16 GB and 32 GB variants and will have an expandable memory. Last, but not least, it will posses a 2300 mAh battery for extended battery life.

If you ask me, this the best looking smartphone Samsung has designed to date. I especially like that fact that they used brushed aluminum for their chassis instead their usual choice of plastic. It makes the phone look and feel more premium.
