Fans are taking ‘Where’s Gamora?’ into their own hands
As many frustrated fans have pointed out online, much of the official Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise leaves out Gamora, one of the movie’s five titular Guardians, played by Zoe Saldana. Though Gamora has an equal amount of screen time as her male colleagues, and Saldana is second-billed after Chris Pratt, Gamora is mysteriously absent in some egregious ways.
This missing-Gamora bullshit makes me SO. MAD. “It’s a boy’s shirt so it can’t have a girl on it” ah yes, boys cannot wear something with a ladybody on it, that would turn them gay or something.
Hey, I wonder what the girls’ shirt for Guardians of the Galaxy looks like? OH WAIT HAHA THERE ISN’T ONE. In fact, a number of their licenses — Lego, Captain America, Star Wars, Ninjago, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, X-Men — only appear on boys’ clothing.
I do not envy the challenge for parents who want their kids to have gender-neutral clothing.
So the logic is guns and knives are okie dokie on boys apparel but a woman is a no go? Ain’t that some shit.
This infuriates me. As a kid I had to get boys’ shirts because there was no girls’ clothing with Star Wars shit on it. The exclusion is real.
“The Guardians Of The Galaxy shirt in particular is a boy’s shirt” *scoff* ExCuSE ME? EX CUSE M E? IM SORRY BUT ARE THEY...
