BOBBY CASTRO’S 50 ALBUMS HE CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT 50-45

As a fan of all music and all things musical,

i never could restrain my musical tastes to just hip hop.

I consider myself a Hip Hop head first, but i also love to play the guitar

and drums and timbales and congas etc. If i was ever stranded on a

deserted island with just food, weed ,a stereo and a crate full of 50 records..

this is what i would not be able to make it without….

50: The Impressions Greatest Hits

with the legendary Curtis!People get ready alone is a song i just have to hear on a constant basis, not because i am religious or nothing,it’s just a song with melodies and harmonies that just makes you feel good, and puts you in a great mood no matter what

49. ONYX-BACDAFUCUP

man this album start to finish is like Black Flag and NWA clashed in a hail of New York street hoodlums and this happened. Too many dope songs to name on this one really, favorites being THROW YA GUNZ IN THE AIR,SLAM,and BITCHASSNIGGUZ.the headknocking face smashing beats with top of the lung raw bar delivery makes you wonder how they kept consciousness through the songs! and or wonder if they have vocal chords left! but damn it sounded so good!

48.Mobb Deep-Juvenile Hell

i remember where i was at when i first heard this album..i mean you always do when you hear a classic.I first heard this album my first time skipping middle school to go hang out at a friends house to smoke weed and just kick it. The moment ME AND MY CREW came on, i was hooked to the Mobb Sound..then ask the track went to PEER PRESSURE i was more than hooked, i was asking for a tape to dub the whole joint. Back in late 94 and summer of 95 this album was my shit!i remember heads getting amped to HOLD DOWN THE BLOCK..and immaturely cracking up on HIT IT FROM DA BACK..man,*thinks back to good old days*….. one album i definitely will always spin!

47. SOCIAL DISTORTION-Prison Bound

I was too young in the 80’s to really get to know much about punk-rock from that era, in fact i was not turned on to Punk Rock till around 93 when i started listening closer to music. My uncle had a cassette single of STORY OF MY LIFE..and i was so addicted to that song, so i went to the record shop with the little money i earned doing this and that on the street, and i went to the record shop to find an album by them, in particular with the story of my life song, however the clerk convinced me to buy the album PRISON BOUND. I took it home and i fell in love with the style. Mike Ness reminds me of the cool ‘tuff guy’ that you respect but wouldn’t wanna fuck with!. the song PRISON BOUND became an instant favorite for me, even more so than STORY OF MY LIFE..songs like LIKE AN OUTLAW,NO PAIN NO GAIN are personal faves but all songs are definitely top notch music.this album led to me becoming a lifelong fan of the group!

46: 2PAC- STRICTLY 4 MY N.I.G.G.A.Z

This is the most under rated Pac album of all time IMO,The first compact disc i ever had was this album too might i add. I remember copping the cassette back in the day before that.I practically lived on this album for a good year.Anybody can remember i spent most of my time with a walkman and headphones and this album probably got more play at that time than anything else.Favorite songs being POINT THA FINGER,SOULJAH’S REVENGE,STEETZ R DEATHROW,REPRESENTIN 93,I GET AROUND,LAST WORDZ hell every song on here i loved to death! Pac outdid himself lyrically on this album, and the production was dope as well even though some crusty assholes didn’t care for it..fuck that! this album..gotta have it!

45.SEAN PRICE-MONKEY BARS

Start to finish classic, Sean Price one of my favorite Mc’s of all time from the city i was born and raised, does not let you down with his apathetic flow and savage bars.Favorites being ONION HEAD,ONE TWO YALL,SPLIFF N WESSON,and of course RISING TO THE TOP! i could not live without this album dunnies! it’s just great hip hop!
