The Flaming Lips, $12 at Evelyn Drinkery

Drinking the Flaming Lips cocktail is like kissing a firecracker — without the pain.

At this East Village spot, bartender Christian Sanders combines gin, mezcal, pineapple, jalapeño syrup, lime and Memphis Barbecue bitters to make the drink.

But what will really set your kisser on fire is the flaming Green Chartreuse liqueur he uses to top off the patriotic potion. Sanders drizzles Green Chartreuse into a lime peel, strikes a match to send sparks flying, then floats the peel atop the drink.

“The Green Chartreuse adds herbal notes that pair well with the pineapple, lime, mezcal and the barbecue bitters along with the smoked paprika and sea salt rim,” Sanders says of his drink, which boasts a savory aftertaste.
