So It’s Come To This: Another Fugazi Remix Album
When we see a link that starts with “Stream a new Fugazi…” we get an immediate semi-sexual arousal. Until it’s inevitably followed by “…remix album made by some DJ,” which has the same effect as showing us a naked picture of our grandma.
That’s exactly the trick The AV Club pulled on us today when they posted a stream of a new album by DJ Chris Lawhorn (killer DJ name!). The album is made of 100 different samples lifted from Fugazi songs. It lacks a certain Rza-esque quality of Wugazi, but the band has authorized the project and proceeds will go to help DC charities, so everybody wins. Guess those cans of old soup we gave them have finally run out.
