At the 2014 North American Indigenous Games in Regina, SK a young woman by the name of Shay Chartier crashed the mainstage during the mainstage show and demanded to be put on stage. She told me, "I just want to sing." It broke my heart to turn her away. We were not able to accommodate her request but I promised her that if she returned the next day I would put her onstage during my podcast recording. She did return the next day. And she sang.
