This year’s Rustbelt Midwest Regional Poetry Slam is taking place in Detroit, Mi on June 13th and 14th. Events will kick off with a youth slam at the Downtown Branch of the Detroit Public Library (121 Gratiot) with prizes for the youth competing as well as the winner being the opening poet for Finals the following day. Preliminary bouts will be taking place at Trinosophes (1464 Gratiot) and 1515 Broadway (1515 Broadway) on the 13th from 7-9pm and 10pm-midnight. On Saturday the 14th preliminaries will be at 1515 Broadway and the Virgil Carr Center (311 E Grand River) from 12-2pm and 3-5pm. Finals will take place at the Boll Family YMCA (1401 Broadway) from 9pm-midnight on the 14th.
