Since we launched Doorsteps in 2011, our mission has always been the same: Make Homebuying Human.

We know that might seem a bit odd considering we are a software company that builds online tools for real estate but we actually think that when technology is really done well it should actually allow us to be more human, not less.

As a team, we have years of experience talking to people who are just beginning the process and we know that sometimes those questions that people ask in the beginning stages can’t often be answered by an algorithm or a search.

We’ve also learned that digesting written information can be super overwhelming and that sometimes you just want to see and hear someone talk to you in a way that is simple, clear, and well-informed. And well, human.

This is why we’re launching a video series called: “Doorsteps: In the Know”.

We value professional grade expertise - so our head of partnerships (and former real estate broker) will be bringing this info to you directly. Want to know how to find the best agent? Just ask Doorsteps. Curious how the negotiation process might work? Just ask Doorsteps. Want to find out why listings appear on some websites but not on other ones? Well…

The first one in this series is about How to Look at Listings (aka, Houses). We know it’s getting harder and harder to decipher who’s who and what is what on these listing pages, so this video aims to help decode what is going on with that and more so you can be a smarter buyer. During this three minute video, we’ll go over how listings work, the differences between the various listing sites, and how to avoid common frustrations while searching for a house.

Here is one thing we can promise you: these won’t be long, boring videos. You don’t have time for that. They will be short and relevant ones that hopefully hit on the topics that you are thinking about most.

With Doorsteps you can always be assured that we’re going to give you the most professional, informed and unbiased advice out there. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more. And again, if you have a question - just ask.
