WOMEN IN FILM + TELEVISION VANCOUVER: MOULIN MADNESS
Well it’s film festival season which means parties, galas and a little bit of madness, in this case the madness is 25 years in the making.
Once a year around this time the good people at WIFTV throw a massive bash called Martini Madness…..this year they are changing it up a touch and going Parisian with a little Moulin Rouge theme! As the fundraiser which kicks off the VIFF Industry Conference, this will be one party you must not miss.
If you haven’t been introduced to WIFTV, this is one local not-for-profit society that makes a difference, committed to advancing and (as I love) celebrating women in film & tv.
WIFTV’s main objectives are: to further the artistic and professional development of women in the Canadian screen-based media community; and to recognize and promote the artistic and professional contributions of women in the Canadian screen-based media community and in the community at large.
WIFTV wants women to make films. More importantly, they want women to continue to make films, find their artistic voices, and to keep on telling their stories through screen-based/digital media.
So for their 25th anniversary they are asking you to bring a Boa & your Beaux this Wednesday at Granville Street’s Fanclub for a night to remember! There will be prizes for best costume, silent auction and a few special guest appearances (rumour has it one of my faves will be performing….True Heroines). Tickets are available at www.womeninfilm.ca. See you at Moulin Madness and save me a dance!
