It is a good post, although I suspect there are people on the political right who accept these arguments. Part of the chasm I see in US politics (and it is influencing others in the occident) is the quick labelling of things to be ‘left’ or ‘right’, as though these are clubs politically active people must sign up to—and that leads to each side rejecting the other’s arguments. That’s really not how progress works: we need to open our eyes to the evidence and not diminish an argument just because of its label.
