Statistics reveal more than 2million patients suffer from kidney failure in India. More than 0.1 million new patients suffer from end stage renal failure every year in our country. Of these 2.1 million patients, 0.9 million will require dialysis (this excludes the existing number of patients who are already under dialysis), out of which only 2% can avail dialysis treatment due to lack of infrastructure and only 5% can get transplant. 1 out of every 3 girl and 1 out of every 5 boys are suffering from UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) before 11 years of age. In general renal scarring is 4th leading cause of transplant in children, 30 -40 % of CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) are due to diabetes mellitus and 15% due to hypertension. Global incidence of CKD failure in children less than 12 years of age is 5 per million children per year.
